Cyber Safety Pasifika (CSP) is a Pacific Islands Chiefs of Police (PICP) Programme which is managed and facilitated by the Australian Federal Police (AFP) in conjunction with strategic partners to deliver cybercrime training across the Pacific region utilising a “by the Pacific, for the Pacific” approach.
CSP delivers cybercrime-based training and support to Pacific police under three pillars:
1. Cybercrime prevention capability through the Cyber Awareness and Education (CAE) program,
2. Cybercrime investigation capability through the Cybercrime Investigation Foundation (CIF) program
3. Providing support for Pacific police in their implementation of cybercrime legislation and policies and assisting the establishment and development of Pacific cybercrime investigation teams.
CSP delivers Pacific police participants local and international experience on cybercrime prevention and investigation through collaboration with strategic partner organisations including Pacific police, AFP Cybercrime, New Zealand Police, United States Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, the Asia-Pacific Network Information Centre, and WESNET – Women’s Services Network, alongside country-specific Computer Emergency Response Teams (CERT) and prosecution departments.
With cybercrime being a global issue, CSP delivers Pacific contextualised cybercrime training in a regional face-to-face format, bringing Pacific police from multiple Pacific nations together to share knowledge, resources, experience and build relationships and networks. The CAE and CIF programs are complementary, helping Pacific police reduce the effects of cybercrime on their communities and develop the capability to effectively investigate a wide range of cyber threats.
